Flexible and Scalable Business Telephony

One thing the past couple of week’s have shown, is that it’s important for a business to be flexible and agile.

With rapidly changing circumstances and a sudden shift to working from home, some businesses have struggled, while others have adapted with seemingly only minimum disruption.

The need to stay flexible is one of the things we’ve been talking about for years. Our cloud hosted phone services are perfect for this as they are location independent, quickly scalable, and easy to update as required.

Once you have an account set up with us, you can manage everything through your online control panel.

You can choose from a wide range of numbers, both UK numbers and international numbers, and quickly connect them to your phone system (although overseas numbers and premium rate services do require a little more set up).

You can also change how you handle calls by choosing from our range of call handling services, using them individually or combining them together to build more sophisticated solutions in just a short period of time.

You can add more extensions as and when required, and apply different call handling rules to each if required. You can add or remove users to different call groups to handle spikes in call volume, then remove them when things quieten down. Using the Time of Day service you can also set up time based rules, so calls are automatically handled in a certain way depending on when the call is received. For example, this is an ideal way to send calls received out of your usual office hours directly to an answerphone mailbox.

Cloud based telephony is also very scalable, so it can grow alongside your business. As you add more employees it’s a simple process to add them to your phone system and add extra services when required to help them handle their calls in the best way possible.

If you have seasonal spikes in call volume, our cloud based system is ideal for this. You can easily add more extensions ahead of time and activate them when you add new team members. For example, we have clients in the tourism industry who can be exceptionally busy for a few months of the year, then very quiet out of season. Using our system, they build phone systems to deal with the surge in calls they expect, then progressively activate the extra extensions and services as and when they need them.

Switching to VoIP also offers you great flexibility with your phone system. If you need to make and receive calls from home, you can literally take your work handset home and use it from there (with some minor tweaking in some cases). Alternatively, you can still access your company’s VoIP phone system by installing an app on your phone or computer, so you can still make or receive work calls as normal, no matter where you are physically located.

As you can see, there are many advantages to choosing a cloud-based telephony system. They are flexible and scalable, and not location dependent, so no matter where you work or what happens, you can always set things up exactly how you need them.
