Callagenix VOIP / IP telephony - What is it?
IP Telephony (also called VOIP, Broadband or Internet telephony etc..) is the transmission of voice conversations over the Internet or through any IP-based network. Once setup you can use the IP Telephone to receives calls from your services (Call and Group Divert) with no divert per minute call charges you can also make calls much like any phone at Callagenix outbound rates.
The main features of Callagenix IP telephony are:
- Talk to other Callagenix IP Telephone numbers without incurring call charges.
- Inbound calls from any Callagenix number can be diverted to a Callagenix IP Telephony device free of charge, saving on divert charges (see costs), dial any phone
- Number making use of Callagenix rates.
- Outbound call recording can be set on any or all IP Telephones
- Caller ID is configurable, it can be set to withheld or any live Callagenix number on the account.
You have an IP Telephone device or may be a headset (speakers and mic) and some software, this converts your voice into a form that can be transmitted via the internet (or network) to a Callagenix service or another person with a Callagenix IP Telephony setup.
