Overview - Why use a competition lines package?

The premium rate competition line enables you to generate revenues by posing a question to callers and offering them a choice of 3 possible answers.

 

E.g. what is the capital of France?  -  is it:

1. London?
2. Paris?
3. Madrid?

If you think you know the answer, call 09XX 1234 567, listen to the instructions given and press 1,2 or 3 on your telephone. If you have the correct answer it will invite callers to leave their name and address. If you answer incorrectly, you are invited to try again.

As is the case with all premium rate services, competition lines must comply with the ICSTIS code of practice and any other competition or gaming rules.

How does the competition lines package work?

In order to run a premium rate service, you first need to obtain permission from the ICSTIS, the governing body for premium rate telephone lines, by completing this form and send it to us. We will then submit it on your behalf, and set the line up for you once their permission is received. Approval takes up to ten days, but is usually quicker.

Your competition line will then be ready for use, and we will give you full details of how to upload messages and manage the service.

You can specify a cost per minute of between 10 pence and £1.
