0845 numbers, also known as BT local rate numbers, are often associated with trusted and long established businesses. When a caller dials an 0845 number they only pay the BT local rate. If you have a national business and want to offer your customers local rate numbers to contact you on, then 0845 numbers are a recognizable way for you to do this. When you get an 0845 number you are compromising with your customer on the cost of the call.

With a Callagenix 0845 number you get free, unlimited inbound minutes with free access to call data and call management. What’s more, if you use our Basic routing service there is no charge to divert your incoming calls onto a UK landline number (01 or 02 numbers).

How are 0845 numbers used?

0845 Numbers with Basic Service (Number Direct)

The 0845 number is programmed to "sit" on top of your UK landline number so any calls to the 0845 number are simply redirected to your own landline. Your UK landline number is not affected in any way. Although 0845 numbers can be diverted to any landline, they cannot be diverted to international numbers or mobile numbers.

Integrate your 0845 number with our Advanced, Intelligent Routing services.  These may include one or more of the services below. You can mix and match them to create the optimum phone solution for you. Services include: Call ForwardCall DiversionGroup Divert, Company Information LineAnswerphoneFax to Email and Virtual Switchboard (illustrated below).  

Once you have created your preferred combination of services, you can use your online control panel to manage how calls to your 0845 number are handled. This may involve something as simple as an Answerphone service or Recorded Message, all the way up to a sophisticated phone menu, diverting calls to call centre hunt groups. It really is up to you, and we’re here to help, should you need any advice.
